Verify autofill

  1. 1
    Unlock GitVault.

The vault must be available before it can fill credentials.

  2. 2
Open Chrome or another app with a login page.

    Tap the username field.

  3. 3
    Choose GitVault from suggestions.

If no suggestion appears, try Chrome and then the keyboard fallback.

Enable GitVault Keyboard

  1. 1
    Open GitVault Settings.

    Find GitVault Keyboard.

  2. 2
    Tap Enable.

Follow the Android input method prompt.

  3. 3
Switch keyboard in a text field.

Select GitVault Keyboard when you need credential suggestions.

When to use keyboard fallback

  • Autofill missing Some apps do not expose username and password fields to Android autofill.
  • Vendor browser issues Some Samsung Internet builds prefer Samsung Pass. Chrome is the recommended browser when third-party autofill is blocked.
  • Older devices Dropdown fallback can work on Android 8.0+ even when inline suggestions are not available.
