Web notes

  • PIN input Type the PIN with the physical keyboard. Mouse-only keypad entry is not required.
  • Biometric unlock Browser support depends on the device, browser, and secure context.
  • Version The web app version is filled from the current release tag after GitHub Pages deployment.

Android notes

  • Autofill Select GitVault as the Android autofill provider before expecting suggestions.
  • Keyboard Enable GitVault Keyboard when a target app does not expose fields to autofill.
  • APK The universal APK is easiest. ABI-specific APKs are available for smaller downloads.

Desktop notes

  • AI Apps Desktop can host the loopback MCP service for explicitly connected local AI applications.
  • Lock behavior Connected apps lose note access immediately when the vault locks.
  • Tray GitVault can stay available in the system tray; use Quit GitVault to stop the local MCP service.
  • Distribution Desktop archives include the Flutter app and the Dart stdio bridge used by stdio-only MCP clients.

Unsupported or conditional behavior

Some Android vendors restrict third-party autofill. Desktop biometric, tray, and launch-at-sign-in behavior depends on the operating system and desktop environment. MCP is local-only and requires an MCP-compatible client.
